A week after defeating Westchester 5-0 in one of the biggest scorelines in club history, the Bohs seemed a different side as they lost to Reading United 4-0 in the opening match at Bonvegna Field.
Despite producing a decent number of shots on the offensive end, the Bohs could not seem to find the net. On the other side of the field, the Baltimore defense was taken to task by the Reading attack. The Pennsylvania side would net their first in the 29th minute off a Darius Madison goal and take the 1-0 lead into the half.
Substitute Graham Smith would score two more for United just after half time, and the fourth was added by Timothy Lazorko.
Despite the scoreline, Bonvegna Field proved to be an idyllic backdrop for a day of soccer as crowds flocked to the home opener. The Bohs look to bounce back next week at home against PDL newcomers Lehigh Valley on Saturday May 30.
