Three former players for the Baltimore Bohemians were drafted in the 2015 Major League Soccer SuperDraft this past week.
Defender Oumar Ballo, who played for the Bohs in the club’s first two seasons, will be heading to the Houston Dynamo after being selected in the second round of the draft. Ballo was also a member of the UMBC squad that reached the College Cup semi-finals.
Forward Kay Banjo was a member of the 2014 Bohs squad and scored one goal for Baltimore in PDL league play. Along with Ballo, he was a member of the same UMBC squad, and formerly played for Towson University’s now-defunct soccer team.
Midfielder Alex Shinsky was selected by Chicago Fire in the fourth round of the draft. Shinsky played for the Bohs in 2013, and played for the nationally-recognized University of Maryland program for four years.
After three seasons, the Bohs have sent 13 players to the professional ranks. The Bohs’ 2015 season starts in mid-May.
